PUPIL HANGED HIMSELF AFTER FAILING MATRIC!

SIMPHIWE Magagula (18) waited anxiously for his matric results throughout December.
But when he finally got the SMS, the news was not good.
The former Njeyeza Secondary School pupil allegedly hanged himself with an electric cord at his home after hearing his results.
His mum, Sarah Shongwe (50), from Schoemansdal, Mpumalanga said her son told her on Friday that his name was not in the newspaper.
She said she worked in the garden in the morning and it was only later when she found the front door locked that she panicked.
“I called him but he didn’t answer. I managed to open the window and unlocked the door,” she said.
“I will never forget the image of my son hanging from the roof.”
Simphiwe’s older brother, Nathi Sitiba (30), said he spoke to him on Thursday.
“I told him not to worry because I would get him a decent job.
“He seemed fine.
“But his tragic death will haunt us forever.”
School principal Donald Nhlapo was shocked by the news.
Mpumalanga police spokesman Brigadier Leonard Hlathi confirmed the incident. He said an inquest docket had been opened.
Department of Education spokesman Jasper Zwane sent his condolences to the family.
